There is provided a blister packaging machine that more reliably forms pocket portions having good gas barrier property for a longer time period. A PTP packaging machine (11) includes a pocket portion forming device (16) configured to form pocket portions (2), each having a bottom portion and a side portion, in a belt-like container film (3); an illumination device (50) placed downstream of the pocket portion forming device (16) and configured to irradiate at least the pocket portions (2) with predetermined electromagnetic radiation; a camera (51) configured to obtain at least transmitted image data based on the electromagnetic radiation transmitted through the pocket portions (2); and a side portion state detector (52) configured to detect a state with regard to thickness of the side portion, based on the transmitted image data obtained by the camera (51). The pocket portion forming device (16) is configured to adjust balance between the thickness of the bottom portion and the thickness of the side portion. The operation of the pocket portion forming device (16) is controlled, based on a result of detection by the side portion state detector (52). |
